Not Quite the Dog Days of Summer...

I chose a basset hound image from Whippersnaller stamps for today's entry. It is warm and muggy here in NH - not the dog day yet, but tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid to upper 80's. Hot enough for me! I am a 70's kind of gal. The buttons on this card are made with a button punch by McGill - I punched out the buttons, then added Ranger's Glossy Accents to them and allowed them to dry completely. The dog image is colored with watercolor pencils and a blender pen.

Blue Butterflies

Sorry it has been so long since I posted - I cannot believe that a week has gone by already! This card was made with another great stamp from Flourishes. The stamp set contains the main floral image with a butterfly plus a couple additional separate butterfly images and some wonderful sayings. For this card, I stamped the main image and one of the additional butterflies on a separate piece of cardstock. Everything is colored with Copics. I cut out the additional butterfly and attached it to the card at the body of the butterfly and flexed the wings up. My favorite way to attach small things like this is with Ranger's Glossy Accents. Quick and inexpensive! I layered the 2 ribbons and tied 2 bows - putting one down first, then attaching the second bow immediately below it.

Happy Mother's Day!

I would like to wish a very happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there - especially all the ladies who are celebrating their very first Mother's Day as a mom!

This is the card I made for my Mom. I used a Penny Black stamp called Butterfly Suite and added a little "Happy Mother's Day" image from Great Impressions in the lower right corner. I stamped the image a 2nd time and cut out the 2 butterflies and popped them over the other ones - attaching them with Ranger's Glossy Accents - which is pretty much my "go to" adhesive for stuff like this. I also went around the ivory cardstock very lightly with Ranger's brushed Corduroy Distress Ink - so lightly that I did not even add any ink to a foam dauber I used yesterday for something else! I wanted it subtle. The card is a Bazzill Bling cardstock and I tied a bow from ivory ribbon, then added a second bow out of gold twine and attached that to the ivory ribbon with a micro glue dot.

Who Does Not Love a Butterfly?

This card uses a combination of stamps - the butterfly is from Memory Box and the wording is by Flourishes. I started with a circle cut with a Spellbinders circle die - then stamped the wording on the circle. Next I added a darker shade circle and layered that to a white beaded circle cut out. Instead of using pearls on each of the circle "beads", I punched small circles out of silver metallic paper and glued them on with Ranger Glossy Accents. Couple benefits of this - nothing to get jammed in the postal machines and it is way more cost effective. The butterfly was colored with Copic markers - cut out and attached at the body of the butterfly with Glossy Accents.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying the day! This is a fun little image from Stampendous. Nothing like a cheery leprechaun enjoying the holiday! I stamped the leprechaun in VersaFine ink - colored with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I punched several size circles out of Bazzill Ivy cardstock and attached them in a line formation along the front of the card (I used Ranger Glossy Accents as an adhesive). Then I layered the leprechaun piece to a piece of black cardstock and aligned it to the left edge of the card. There's a little green rhinestone in his hand - for luck!

A Valentine Cat!

I just love the little cats from Penny Black! This is a great image and makes a fun card for Valentine's Day. The image is colored with Staedtler watercolor pencils and a Dove blender pen. The little hearts on the mug are covered with Ranger's Glossy Accents to add a little shine. The designer paper is from BoBunny. Lots of layers and punching makes it a fun card.
