Cupcake Birthday Card...

When you need a card for someone who likes cupcakes, what do you do?  Make them a cupcake card, of course!!  This is a simple card - a little fussy work with the candles and bows, but nothing difficult.  Started with a Martha Stewart Crafts cupcake punch - which punches out 2 pieces, the top and bottom of the cupcake.  Just used various orange/yellow tones from the scrap drawer.  Then did some mixing and matching.  The candles are from an EK Success border punch - used the same colors and also punched the pattern in yellow to cut out the pieces for the flames.  Added some cardstock trim and layered with some striped cardstock - stamped the sentiment from Printworks in Pinecone Versacolor ink and layered away!

What else are you going to do when it is snowing - AGAIN!

Distress Stains Applied Directly to a Stamp

This is similar to one of the cards we will be making in the "Distress Stain Mania" class.  I used the stains to ink the large background stamp used in this card (it is a Hero Arts stamp).  The beauty of the stains over apply ink direct to the stamp and then spritzing is that the stains are so fluid that the colors simply blend together - you do not need to add water for blending.  You can add water - either before or after stamping - I did not in this case.  The flower image is from Flourishes and I colored the image with PrismaColor pencils.  The ribbon is from May Arts - simply tied the 2 colors together to make the bow.
