Gerber Daisies...
This is another card we are making in our "Flourishes Splendor" class this month and next. I started with a pre-cut circle from a Spellbinders die. Then I stamped the daisy image so it was off the circle. Now you put the circle back into the die and apply Ranger's Vintage Velvet Distress Ink with a foam applicator around the white edge of the circle, up to the flowers. When you remove the die, it leaves that nice white edge - which sets off the image nicely. Then it is a layering game with a bow attached in a corner arrangement.

Tips on coloring and shading red with Copics
Red is sometimes one of the more challenging colors to work with - and this is no exception with Copic markers. Check out this tutorial by Kristy Dalman from www.theoddgirl.com. It is timely in that it shows how to shade a classic heart - just in time for Valentine's Day!

Charlie Brown and Snoopy - You Cannot Go Wrong!
Need a quick card for a guy who is a dog lover? Here's a quick card that brings a smile to everyone's face! The Peanuts stamps from Stampabilities have always moved out of the store well and appeal to everyone! Especially the Baby Boomer generation.
This was a quick card - stamped and colored with Copics and then layered with some Spellbinders dies. Add a "Wish Big" sentiment and it makes a great birthday card.
Thanks for making us part of your day today!

Paper Piecing with a Die
Now, not everyone likes to paper piece, but when you use a die cut, it is a lot easier. On this card, I started with a Memory Box die and cut it first from a base green color, then cut the flowers from various patterned papers and attached them over the first cut out.
To create the "frame" look, I layered the black cardstock over a white trim layer with a thin black layer to set it off. The flower sprig is then attached over the black with foam tape.
Simple and very effective.

You Rock!
My apologies for being so "out of touch." Just don't know where the time went. Weddings, Christmas and recovering from CHA took a toll on me, I guess. So, hopefully I am back to regular posting. I chose a card for the upcoming "Laugh with the Oldies" class to salute you, my readers, for being patient. In my eyes, you rock!
This is a fun image from Art Impressions. I especially like this one and can picture myself a few years down the road like this! After a tough nine holes of golf on an executive course! HA! The image is stamped with VersaFine ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils. Cut out with a circle Spellbinders die and layered to some fun striped DP by Canvas Corp. Added a bow for embellishment and a couple Candi dots!
Enjoy!
