Medallion Stamps from JustRite

JustRite came up with these stamps that kind of remind me of a kaleidoscope. I was into happy colors so I went with the pink and yellow look. It's a little tricky to see all the layers in the photo, but there are quite a few. There are 2 layers to the base - the upper one has the medallion in the middle and the edges of the medallion are colored. Next you need just the cut-out medallion and then mount it with foam tape off-set from the design below. The top layer is the center of the medallion, topped off with a gold bead. I used the Spellbinders Lacey Squares and some embellishments in the corners from Mark Richards.

It's a Circle Easel Card!

I think easel cards are always fun to make - and you can make them as circle cards. You start by making a circle card with a scallop circle die (by having the fold be slightly inside the cut line. then you need a single thickness circle of the same size (and color in this case). On one of the sides of the circle card, score it in half - that makes the easel mechanism. You then attach the single circle to the upper half of the mechanism piece. Now you just decorate the card - in this case I have Marcie from La-La-Land Crafts with her sporty inner tube and hat - stamped, colored with Copics and cut out - attached with foam tape to the top of the card - along with a happy birthday sentiment from Penny Black and some punched sea stars. The words stamped on the inside piece is attached with foam tape - that catches the top piece and creates the easel card.

Another Mini Maggie!

One of the best things about the mini Magnolias is that they don't overpower an A2 card. They are also quick and easy to color. This is a nice springy card. I made a frame with a couple Spellbinders dies, popped it up with foam tape on the card and put Tilda in the middle. Tilda is colored with Copics. Add some dimensional flowers on the frame with some leaves to spruce up the frame a bit and make it more springy. Then I added some corner designs to the card for some more accent.

I hope you're enjoying your day!

Marcie with Bunny...

This is another great image from La-La Land Crafts - little Marcie with Bunny. I stamped the image with Memento ink and colored her with Copics and paper-pieced her dress and hair band with a nice springy paper. The background circle is cut with a Spellbinders die and then embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The embossed image adds a little something to the background circle. I added a few flowers to the side and it's done!
Have a great day and thanks for making us part of your day!

April Calendar Cat...

Spring is in the air and I love this DP with the little fun-colored birds. First I cut a couple strips of the birds and layered those to a lavender Bazzill base. Then I added a small picture of Bucle and some fun felt flowers for a nice springy layout. I definitely need to work on getting some more bright cat photos for next year's calendar!

Have a great day!

The World of Mini Maggies...

We picked up some of the "Mini Magnolias" at CHA - and when they say "mini," they mean it! These are small, but a lot of fun to stamp and color. And not very hard to cut out - I expected it to be hard, but they cut out quite quickly and easily. Tilda with Teddy Bear was always one of my favorite images and I picked this one up in the mini version. So I stamped and colored her with Copics, then cut her out. I decided to have her sit on the edge of a circle. In a Hero Arts clear set, I found the words "enjoy the little things" and knew it was perfect. One of the cool things with clear word stamps is that you can carefully bend the words to fit your circle shape. I shaped a couple small flowers and put those on both sides of Tilda. Just a fun little card!

Easter Chick....

Wow! Hard to believe I have been offline on the blog for over 2 weeks! Yikes! We're going to try to do better. Here it is the week before Easter already. I hope everyone is enjoying the more Spring-like weather. We did not have much of a winter, but I always love Spring when everything starts popping out of the ground.

This is a cute little chick stamp from Stampendous. She is decked out for the holiday! I colored her with watercolor pencils and a blender pen and cut her out with a Spellbinders oval die. I layered that to a green scalloped oval and then over some fun glitter striped paper and onto a pink card. I added a couple punched flowers around the words and decorated that strip with an EK Success border punch. A very easy card - great for last minute cards.

Thanks for coming by and your patience.
