Enjoy the Ride!

For all of you out there traveling for Thanksgiving, this card is for you! This is another "old" image from Ann-Ticipations. It is actually 2 stamps, the car and the mouse. There were several "drivers" made to fit into the car - I have the mouse and a lady who kinda looks like a red-hatter. I like the mouse because it is something that you can use for the ever-elusive "guy cards." I used some large square brads to add a little accent, but nothing flashy. The brads have a matte finish and I really like the way they look.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and safe travels. If you're a Black Friday shopper, you'll see me and my mom out there - we are die hard BF shoppers!

I Wheely Like You!

This is a fun little image from Amuse - one that has been around a while and I just never quite figured out what to do with it. I love Vespa scooters and have always wanted one. I finally pulled the image down and was convinced I was going to do something with it. It's small and I did not want to do too much, as it detracts from the image and saying. I pulled out the inverted scallop dies from Spellbinders and used a couple layers for some accent. The DP is from Echo Park and seemed to fit the image. A simple little card that is just fun!

Thanks from dropping in!

A FUN Birthday Card!

I have had this stamp since the mid 90's and I cannot count how many cards like this I have made. This is the first time I have actually taken a picture of one, however. I tend to use it for milestone birthdays (40, 50, etc) and have used it for a lot of guys. I needed just such a card for tomorrow and knew exactly what stamp to pull. The lady and the scruffy cat are by Art Impressions (and I do not know if it is even currently available) and the birthday words above are from Printworks. I colored them both with watercolor pencils and a blender pen and cut them out. This cutting is not for someone who does not like to cut! You could certainly stamp and color them without cutting them out, but I really like the popped effect when they are cut out and mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Magnolia Christmas stamps have shipped!

Keep your fingers crossed that there will not be any shipping delays! They should be in sometime next week - and in the store by next weekend. This is a great collection of Christmas images! Lots of characters and very few "accessory" images. I've been seeing several card designs with the new images from the various design team members associated with Magnolia and some of their distributors.

Grand Caliber is HERE!

The Spellbinders Grand Caliber die cutting machine and dies have arrived! This machine allows you to cut and emboss dies up to 8-1/4" wide and the new Grand die sets have large dies. Your first thought is that these are only for scrapbooking - not true! I have seen some very interesting card applications with these dies - in some cases folding the die cut in half to make a card. You want to check these items out.

JustRite's Groovy Snowmen!

This card uses one of the newer sets from JustRite and probably my favorite set for the holiday season! I am a sucker for snowmen anyway and the ones in this set (total of 4) are all wonderful. This guy is colored with watercolor pencils and a Dove Blender pen. There are a couple layers used here for the snowman. The snowman is stamped and then cut out with a Spellbinders circle. The larger circle is stamped with the border image, then cut out with a Spellbinders scallop die. The striped and swirled DP are both from BoBunny (the striped is one of the new designs for Christmas) and I made 2-color snowflakes with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch. He makes a cheery holiday card for anyone.

Thanks for stopping by!
