Reach for the stars...

This card is made using a portion of a much larger Penny Black image - I chose to highlight the part of the image showing the girl reaching for the stars by cutting out that section with a Spellbinders circle die. The words (anther Penny Black image) are also cut out with another die and I added the 3rd circle for balance and used 2 Spellbinders stars in coordinating yellow colors. The background layer is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The little girl is stamped with VersaFine ink and colored with Staedtler watercolor pencils and a Dove blender pen. The words are stamped with Ranger Wild Plum Adirondack dye ink.

3 Circles of Violets

I wanted to try something different with the beautiful violets stamp from Flourishes. So, I stamped and colored it 3 times (used Prismacolor pencils for this card), the cut parts of the image out at different views with a Spellbinders circle die. Add a couple coordinating color layers and put them on a card that will fit in a standard business envelope. The border punch is a Brenda Walton design from EK Success. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart Crafts punch that have a few adhesive beads added to them.

Distress Ink Display

If you're wondering what the different Ranger Distress ink colors look like when you use them, you now need to look no farther than the display in the store. As you can see, each color now has a tag - which was made by doing the "wrinkle free distress" technique on the background, then stamping the color with a fern image over it. This shows both the color in a watered down technique and straight stamping. Thanks to Sheila for all her hard work in making these wonderful samples!

One more baby card...

This card is using a large stamp from Whippersnapper - colored this time with Staedtler watercolor pencils and a Dove Blender pen. The stamp was first stamped on a large piece if cardstock, then I used a ruler and exacto knife to cut a straight line across, below the balloon and then cut out the balloon. It is a great way to reduce the amount of "white space" on a card. The DP is from Kaiser. I ran the DP through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to add some dimension. A little ribbon is added for accent.

New PEANUTS stamps in stock!

Wow! Has it been since Tuesday since I entered a post? Yikes! The time (and summer) is just going by too fast. There was a nip in the air this morning - made me think of Fall! I'm not ready!

Anyway, we got in another shipment of Peanuts stamps - including some we have pictured here. Also re-stocked some of the more popular ones. These are GREAT timeless stamps that everyone seems to adore.

Pearl Dots! With a VIVA Pearl Pen...

The background piece on this card was created by doing a cross-hatch pattern with a Scor-Pal, then putting little pearl dots with a Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen. This is a very economical way to get a great effect! The stamp is by Lockhart Stamp Company and is colored with Prismacolor pencils. A couple layers of Spellbinders circles, some nice ribbon by Midori and you have a great card!

BoBunny Cupcake - Yum!

I was in attendance at a presentation by BoBunny at the CHA show last month and they came around and gave everyone one of these delicious cupcakes! It tasted as good as it looks. I love the little BoBunny decorations that the baker made for adornment. Nothing like a little chocolate and raspberry delight to cheer up your day!

Baby boy card...

When it comes to cute, Whippersnapper stamps rates right up there. This is one of their baby images that we recently got in and used in a class. We did it in a boy theme, but it could certainly be done in girl colors or neutral colors. The bear punch is by Martha Stewart and is one of the dual punches that both punches and embosses. The zig zag trim on the bottom is an EK Success punch, which I love because you can make a trim that is flat and in any color you want! The word stamp is by Hero Arts. The little guy is colored with Copic markers.

Have a great stamping day!

Gotta love those Flourishes stamps!

Flourishes is quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp companies. Their designs are just elegant and stamp beautifully. This image is from one the "calendar" flower series and I colored it in Prismacolor pencils. It is layered with several Spellbinders dies - including "Labels Ten," which is also finding itself onto my favorites list. The white oval is cut out and the cardstock left in the die. I then took a large round dauber and added some color with Ranger Distress ink - the Milled Lavender color. The die protects the edge and you get a nice white edge around the oval. I added a couple adhesive gold beads to the top and bottom of the die cut to give it a little punch. This is one of those cards that is good to have in your stash - as you could turn it into a card for almost any occasion - just add the appropriate sentiment.

There's a Moose in the Tub!

A little celebration - moose style! This is a Riley the Moose image - colored with Staedtler watercolor pencils. These are fun images and often work for everyone - every age. This one might be a little "girly" for a guy, but I use a lot of Riley images for guy cards. Yes, they can be more challenging. The DP is from the BoBunny "Love Shack" collection. You can always count on BoBunny for some GREAT DP. This summer's new collections are WONDERFUL!

Fun with Flourishes...

I have been enjoying mixing and matching different Spellbinders dies - and have been LOVING the floral images by Flourishes! The circle is cut out and the cardstock left in the circle die. Then I used a Distress Ink and a large dauber to apply ink onto the cardstock - the die protects the edge of the cardstock and it leaves a nice white edge to the circle. I chose to color the image with Prismacolor pencils - they cover the ink on the circle more thoroughly. Layer it up with another Spellbinders dies and attach to the card with some ribbon. A classy card that is not difficult to make.

Baby Girl Card...

In case you had not noticed, babies are HOT! We're in the middle of another baby boom, as the children of the baby boomers are now having their own children. This image from Whippersnapper is simply adorable and makes a great baby girl card. The DP is from Kaiser and I used an EK border punch and some lovely pink double-face satin ribbon from Midori. The little hearts are simply punched out of an old heart corner punch and added as an embellishment. Colored with Copic markers.
