I just LOVE the PEANUTS stamps from Stampabilities! They are so universally usable and we have sold a TON in the store. This image is very near and dear to my heart as time seems to be just FLYING by. I colored this image with Copic markers and stamped the design with Momento ink. It is summer, and if you're in a humid part of the world, I highly recommend drying the ink with a heat gun before coloring to ensure that the ink is completely dry.

More balloon hedgies...

I needed a "pick-me-up" card for a friend of mine and went back to these cute hedgies. I really like this image - I think it is the adorable little one that gets me. Earlier this month, I showed this image colored with grays, so this time I decided to color the hedgies in browns. Once again, I chose to color these with Staedtler watercolor pencils and a Dove blender pen. The wording is from a clear set by Inky Antics. I double layered the words - using Marvy circle punches and a scallop punch.

Not your average cupcake...

This card is made with one of the images from one of the newer designers from Impression Obsession. There are some GREAT animals - cute, but not too cute. I also used one of my favorite embossing plates on this one - it is a 3-dot pattern by Sissix. I love it! This is definitely a more girlie card, but fun all the same.

Butterflies from Hero Arts

This is a simple card - if you don't mind cutting out butterflies! This is a butterfly from a cling set by Hero Arts that is stamped and embossed with white embossing powder on a printed paper. This works well because now you do not have to color the butterfly. The base card is stamped with one of the large background images from Hero Arts. After the card was completed, I added some dots of Ranger Liquid Pearls randomly for a little extra effect. The flower is made by crumpling Bazzill cardstock BEFORE punching out a couple flowers. The only concern with this technique is that if you soften the cardstock too much, it sometimes likes to jam the punch, so the trick is to crumple it enough to get a soft effect, but not too much. I used a large flower punch. If you used a die to cut it, that concern will completely go away. I love to make flowers this way, as I can make as many as I need, in a huge range of colors.

Purple Hydrangea

I think that hydrangeas are my all-time favorite flower. We brought a beautiful blue one back from Cape Code several years ago and I love the blooms later in the summer. This card is using one of the Spring releases from JustRite Stampers. I colored the image with Copic markers. The ribbon is a luxurious silk ribbon from May Arts - I LOVE that ribbon. It is so soft and makes wonderful bows. The white card layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and layered to a very light lavender Bazzill card. I used adhesive pearls from Queen and Company.

Hedgehog balloon ride...

I LOVE this hedgy image from Penny Black! Especially the little one! How can you not find that an adorable design? This was a fun card. I used one of the border/strip embossing folders, then attached a tied ribbon over it - this is one of the "double dot" ribbons from Bo Bunny. The great thing about these ribbons is that they are the same pattern on both sides! No fighting to try to ensure that the pattern side is showing. On the balloon, I covered the colored image with Ranger Glossy Accents, then sprinkled dry glitter over it and let the whole thing dry. Be patient!

Graduation time!

This is prime high school graduation time here in the northeast and I had to make a "guy grad card" this week. I always find these more challenging, as many folks do. I pulled out a real vintage stamp. The main image is by Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers (affectionately know as RBBB to those of us who formerly collected them). My good friend Paula owned and ran this company years ago and it was chock fill of hysterical stamps - stamps with a good twist on things. I have made and laughed through many cards with RBBB stamps.

The grad hat stripe is a glitter paper from Best Creations and the wording is from a grad set by Impression Obsession. It's a pretty simple card, but effective and done with the school colors (dark green/gold) in mind. I could not bring myself to mount this on a dark yellow card, so I chose something with a little more beige in it.

Crossword Hedgies...

You can't help loving these hedgehogs from Penny Black! This image makes a great birthday card - this one is using "girlie" colors, but you could certainly do this in a more male theme. These images always make me smile! Colored with Staedtler watercolor pencils with a Dove blender pen. The border punch is from Martha Stewart Crafts.

By the Sea...

This is one of the cards in the "By the Sea" class coming up. The image is stamped with Ranger Adirondack ink - Ginger and colored with Copic markers. This image is part of a GREAT set by JustRite Stampers. I also used the Spellbinders large scallop ovals die set. The border punch is one of my favorites by EK Success.
