New Designs from Outlines!

This is another card we made this past weekend at the wholesale show. It shows some of the new images being released by Outlines. We have the whole collection on order - coming with a display board. We plan on doing a class with these new designs - probably in June, seeing that the May schedule is already set.

Faux Glass Flowers - Ranger Style

I made this tag at a wholesale show this weekend. The flower is made by bending wire and dipping it into clear Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE) colored with Ranger's heat safe dyes. What is amazing is that you dip the wire with the petals flat and you are able to shape the petals afterwards by carefully bending them without the UTEE cracking. Obviously, this is not something you could send through the mail without a box, but the results are quite stunning!

New EK Border Punches!

We just received an order with a lot of new border punches by EK Success! These are the "fold and lock" punches that are strong enough to punch Bazzill cardstock. This Easter card uses one of the new border designs - and it might just be my favorite of the collection. The swirls with the little punched holes really make for an elegant punch.

Easter Egg Stamp by Leigh Hannon

This is one of the Easter images by Leigh Hannon - produced by Impression Obsession. I still need to dress up the eggs with some Liquid Pearls maybe, but the basic card layout is fun! I colored this with Staedtler watercolor pencils and a Dove blender pen.

Easter is only a couple weeks away and I want to get 30 of these made!

More butterflies...

When you're in the mood for butterflies, you just keep making cards with butterflies. This is a stamp from a clear set by Inkadinkado using the "direct to rubber" ink application technique with Tsukineko VersaColor pigment ink and the words by Impression Obsession. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart Crafts punch - with little pearls added for accent. The gold dots are small Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest.

Purple flowers and butterflies...

I used a Alesa Baker clear set from Impression Obsession to create the purple flowers on this card. I think that it was meant to be daisies, but I decided to make them purple anyway - gotta love the creative license of stamping! Add some embossing and ribbon and you have a card that can be used for a lot of things. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart Crafts punch and the little pearls just finish it off!

Brown Hedgies!

This image is one of the new releases from Penny Black. For years, I have always colored their hedgehogs grey. The colored label on the stamp showed them colored in browns, so I decided to give it a try! Given the basket in the image and the red apples, I really like them colored in browns! This was done with Staedtler watercolor pencils and a Dove blender pen. The little buttons below are faux buttons that we are going to make in the March Technique Junkies class.

Wrinkle Free Distress with new Distress Inks

12 new fabulous colors of Ranger's Distress Ink Pads came in last week. I decided to use 3 of the new colors and do some "wrinkle-free distressing" on some ivory cardstock. I used Forest Moss, Crushed Olive and Stormy Sky. To do this technique, you need a Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Simply apply ink direct from the pad onto the craft sheet. 2-3 hits of each color is plenty. Now, in the "normal mode" you simply spritz with plain water, but I added a little gold Perfect Pearls to my mini mister and spritzed that onto the craft sheet. You then simply dab the cardstock piece repeatedly onto the ink and it will create a wonderful multi-color background. The Perfect Pearls adds a nice gold accent (which is not very visibly in the photo). I dried it (and used an iron to get it flat), then trimmed it to size and used it on my card. It is quick and easy - and the colors combinations are endless!
